Train derailed, stolen parts of the track found in Cha-Am scrap shop

The southbound Thon Buri-Lang Suan train (No 255) derailed on Monday 19 August 2019 between Huai Sai Tai and Hua Hin stations (near the airport tunnel) around noon. The track was inspected and it quickly appeared that several railway pins and steel plates were missing. The police eventually found the stolen parts in a second hand dealer in Cha-Am named Rung Charoen. The shop ownner was held for questioning.

Fortunately none of the 300 passengers were injured. The tracks have been fixed and traffic has resumed normally.
