There are two popular fishing parks in Cha-am. Cha-am Fishing Park is in the north of Cha-am, on the left hand side of the road to Bangkok, about km 178 (that is about 5 km after the Factory Outlet), opposite a PTT petrol station. It’s open from 8:00 am to 08:00 pm and you can rent fishing rods for 400 baht per day (200 baht charge if you bring your own). If you catch some fish you have to release it back into the water. They also have accomodation, bungalows can be rent for 500 baht per day.
Another popular place is Khao Yai Fishing Park, which is closer to Cha-am, on the road leading to Hup Kapong (see our interactive city map for the exact location). It’s open from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, you can rent a fishing rod for 160 baht per day (or 80 baht per fishing rod that you bring in).
