Going from Bangkok airport to Hua Hin by bus

There is a bus operating between Suvarnabhumi airport and Hua Hin. The bus can stop in Cha-am, just mention it when you buy your ticket at the airport, at Hua Hin bus station or by Internet (you can buy tickets beforehand, it is actually recommended).

At the airport you will find the bus at level 1, gate 8. Departures at 07:30, 09:00, 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00, 16:30, 18:00 and 19:30.

In Hua Hin the bus departs from the bus station near soi 96/1. The first bus leaves at 06:00, then 07:30, 09:00, 10:30, 12:00, 13:30, 15:00, 16:30 and 18:00.

Travel time is approximately three hours, and the price is 269 baht/person.

Phone number: 084-697-3773 (Hua Hin) and 02-747-4448 (Bangkok).

  1. How reliable is the pickup in cha-am? I have a flight at midday and have booked a ticket on the 1st bus pick up 6-30ish. Also do taxis still wait at drop off? Hotel is on the beach road. Thanks.

  2. Paul
Wasn’t me asked the original question but was just looking at the site with a view to a future trip and noticed the thread was still alive.
Which is the “intersection” where the SVB-HuaHin bus drops off? Is it where Routes 37 and 4 split (which looks a fair way out of town) or does the bus come into Cha Am on Route 4 and drop off at a different intersection?
Secondly, when heading back to SVB, is there a bus desk at this intersection where you can buy a ticket or do you have to book on line?
    Thanks and Regards

    • Hi Paul, the intersection is between Highway #4 (Phetkasem road) and Narathip road. See “orientation in Cha-am” in this article.
There is no bus desk in Cha-am for the airport bus, so you have to book online or at the desk in Hua Hin.

  3. Hi, is there any chance for a little later departure from the airport at the end of March, we are landing at 18 45, so that gives us only 45 min to catc the bus…!? Is there a toilet in the bus ?

    A bientôt.

  6. Phone number still works, but not website. Does the bus still run? If so, does it still leave from near Gate 8 and run according to the old schedule?

    • Yes you can get a ticket on or at the departure location at BKK but make sure you print it out or have proof of ticket purchase. It cost an extra Bt 50 to buy a ticket on line. There is a 99% chance you will get a ticket on this bus BKK to Cha-am if you just roll up, pay the money, they’ll put a coloured sticker on you to match your departing bus and away you go. If you get there late you might have to wait for the next bus 1.5 hrs later. They go 1.5hrs apart all day long. If you are coming from DMK to BKK you will not be able to catch the free bus but as you must have a BKK departing ticket or boarding pass to get on the free bus, don’worry there plenty of mini buses or other buses which cost only Bt35/50 which go DMK to BKK.

    • You can catch a Mini bus Cha-am to Hua Hin outside 7/11 200 metre south of the light in Cha-am if you don’t mind doing 140 kph. It will be very fast, say a prayer or catch a big green bus it takes a bit longer but will be alive at the end.

  7. How can i get from Cha-am to Hua Hin ? Do I have to make a reservation ?
Like to travel the 20th of december. Anyone Knows the answers ?

  8. I haven’t seen the bus but I think it’s a real bus, not a van or minivan. I will try to post a picture if I have the opportunity to see it in Hua Hin.

Unfortunately there is no official stop at Cha-am, but you can always ask the driver to quickly drop you off somewhere (especially if you don’t have anything in the luggage hold).

  9. Thanks for this information, does the bus stops at ChAm (on the way to Hua Hin ?). What kind of bus it is ? A van, a VIP bus or ???
