HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun, or simply King Vajiralongkorn, succeeded his father and ascended the throne as King Rama X, at the age of 64. The designated heir since 1972, he became the 10th king of the Chakri dynasty. The official coronation ceremony will take place after the cremation of King Bhumibol, who died on October 13.
